I'm a career changer with a B.S. in Computer Science, coming from a maintenance and operations background. I got into tech because I kept wanting to know how things actually worked — and once I started pulling on that thread with networking and Linux, I couldn't stop.
Most of what I know I learned by breaking things in my homelab and figuring out why. Right now that means running a live SIEM with Wazuh, segmenting my network with VLANs, and building detection scenarios with Kali and Metasploitable. I focus on security operations and threat detection — the part where the stakes are real and the problems are interesting.
I hold CompTIA Security+ and I'm working toward CySA+. The projects on this site are the actual things I've built — not tutorials I followed.
A segmented home network with VLANs for IoT, trusted devices, and a guest network — managed through a dedicated firewall and monitored with traffic analysis tools.
A personal NAS on TrueNAS Scale (Debian) hosting self-managed apps — configured DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and access controls, with security hardening applied to every service.
Deployed Wazuh on a dedicated Ubuntu server with agents on a Raspberry Pi and Kali VM. Simulates attack scenarios with Metasploitable targets, tunes detection rules, and documents findings as if on a real SOC shift.
