I'm a career changer with a B.S. in Computer Science, coming from a maintenance and operations background. I got into tech because I kept wanting to know how things actually worked — and once I started pulling on that thread with networking and Linux, I couldn't stop.
Most of what I know I learned by breaking things in my homelab and figuring out why. Right now that means VLANs, self-hosted services, and a lot of time in the AWS console. I focus on cloud security — not because it's a hot job category, but because it's the part where the stakes are real and the problems are interesting.

A segmented home network with VLANs for IoT, trusted devices, and a guest network — managed through a dedicated firewall and monitored with traffic analysis tools.
A personal NAS on TrueNAS Scale (Debian) hosting self-managed apps — configured DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and access controls, with security hardening applied to every service.
Building a hardened AWS foundation — least-privilege IAM, MFA, CloudTrail logging, GuardDuty, and Config rules — documented as a repeatable, security-first cloud baseline.
